alot of races this year are going to require DOT tires for the street class. i think this sucks but whatever. what is the best DOT racing tire out there?

 

I would say the BFG Drag Radial

 

the bf's will proabably be the best for radials. remember MT,Hoosier,M&H all make DOT tires but they are not approved for street tire class.

 

I love my bfg's, there are bad ***.

 

hmm thats odd. alot of the rules just say.. must have "dot approved tire" if you roll up there with something that looks like a slick (non radial) and its dot approved are you telling me they wont let you race it? thats even more ghay.

 

I liked the Nittos alotl. They worked well for me on my hatch and a friend now on her modded GST (and we all know the wheelspin on those things)

BFG also is a very good one. Seen a few Hondas lately in my area with em. They hook nicely.

What about this one Toyo supposedly has commin out?

yeah, NT555R is pretty good as long as you don't let them harden up. if you soak them after they get hard, they will soften right back up nad grip just as good, or even better, than before

 

Ive heard bout soaking them but never have B4. What are you running on the lude Sam?

I'm thinking about trying a set of BFG's soaked in VHT for a week or so.

It's not VHT, but it's this tire softener stuff that's supposed to make the tire compound much softer...I have the name around here somewhere.

spend about 10 bucks, and it works great when soaking tires

 

norris seems to like the american racing tire for street racing. you might not like it(it's 26.5" tall). give him a call about it. its either that or a 225 bfg.

 

yeah.. thats kinds tall for an n/a car. i guess ill probably end up going with the bfg.
