Default Car won't start, need help.........

I just got my car back from the mechanic who was gone for the day. The car started fine, filled her up with gas, everything good. So I'm driving over to the supermarket. Come back, car won't start, thought it was the battery, got jumper cables, car won't start. I'm thinking it's a bad alternator, but I'm not sure. They told me they kept my old alternator and hooked it up to the new motor. My question is,

could it be the alternator?
If it is the alternator, my old one worked, could it have died after they swaped it?

Any help would be gladly appreciated. I would have checked it out myself, but I was in a supermarket parking lot so it's sort of inconvinient. Any input would be appreciated.

Probably has something to do with your ignition, check your coil or if it's an accord, it's most likely your ICM.

you think so? I was also thinking maybe bad grounding. I mean, the car started fine, turned it off to get gas, turned it back on and everything was fine. Whent to the store for a about 5 minutes, car wouldn't start. I know it's an electrical problem.

Could be a bad ground, I was just giving a possibility. I work at a shop and see accords and integras towed in at least four or five times a day and they all have a starting problem which is bad coil on civics/integras, or bad ICM's on other hondas with external coils(accords).

Dang that must suck.. Well, there's really not enough info there..

Does it even try to crank over??

Did you try turning the key and then stepping on the clutch??..

I don't know.. Good Luck though..

I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to figure it out. I'll take off one of the plugs to see if I get spark. It's not the fuel pump, because I get the hummm from the rear.

I am having a starting problem myself, the car ran fine when my dad jumped it. But after letting it sit for 1 hour it would not start back up. I replace the alternator and it did not work. Autozone also gave me a new battery but it still did not work. I am pretty sure its the starter. Read my other post about it for more information.

Hit your starter with something to see if it starts up. Today I woke up early, and started messing with the harness and the car turned on. 9/10 times it's electrical. Also check if you have spark. If you don't, it's electrical, if you do, it's something else. Tomorrow or Monday, I'm gonna spend some time and mess with the harness wires again. I might have bad contact or a wrong ground wire. My old headlight harness was cut off (from when I bought the car). So the way the wires were re-arranged, somehow caused some static. I'll keep you guys updated.
