How do you read the lines on an STR pro cam gear?
I searched and found nothing. This is my first cam gear and there are lines on the outer part that are wider than the lines on the inside of the gear. what are the sets of lines, and what are the degrees? Thanks.
Pro tractor, lol.
Find the middle one, the ones to the left should be advance and to the right should be retard (timing) also i could be wrong. but it sounds right.

on an str cam gear each mark is 1 degree, to the left is advancing and to the right is retarding...i know because i am running an str cam gear in my single cam...

It is actually quite simple after you realize how to do it. This method makes for much easier reading and no more guessing what degree mark you are at.
FIRST there are marks on the outer ring and there are marks on the inner ring.
SECOND Each degree is its own degree "0" is "0" , "1" is "1" and so forth.
THIRD Lets say you want to dial in 2 degrees advance (from zero) count out 2 marks on the outer do the same on the inner now line those 2 marks up you just advanced the gear 2 degrees.
this goes the same for any other degree mark you wish to tune in.

I don't know why I didn't go to STR in the first place! I recently had a problem with the key on my progear, and they fixed me right up! Good guys at STR! A+

quick question though why not just mark the degrees, seems like it would be easier?
