Default HELP HELP HELP Beater has no heat!!!

My 89 Civic 4 door's heater **** on me this morning...I started the car with it on Defrost, once the car warmed up I tried to move the lever to make the heat blow onto me, the lever was stuck. I jiggled the lever and it finally moved over, but now no air is comming out of ANY vents. I can hear the cage spinning and air is blowing it just isn't coming out of the vents - needless to say it was a very cold trip to work this morning...

What could be the problem and how can I fix it? I have to have heat, it is in the single digets here in Indianapolis!

when you say air, are you trying to say, heat? If you hear the blower going, then its blowing air. Im not sure what vents you have open, but, It should be blowing " air " from somewhere. If it is blowing cold air even when the car is warmed up, you can look under the dash behind right in the middle near the firewall and you will see the " air/mix " cable which connects to the controls.. you can simply slide that thing back or forward to adjust your heat/air accordingly.

No, no air PERIOD - nothing is coming out of any vent, be it hot or cold....I can hear the motor but nothing is coming out of the vents. The lever where you decide if you want floor, defrost, mix whatever doesn't feel like it is connected to anything anymore. I just wonder if the vents are in between open and closed! Is there a way to open the vents from under the dash too...It is almost like every vent is slammed shut, but internally, like I said the defrost vents were working but when I went to switch it so the heat would blow on me the lever was stuck...after I jiggled and jerked on it the lever finally moved but now the defrost vents are closed and none of the others opended!!

like the other guys said, if the blower is moving then there is air moving in a direction, it sounds to me like the lever cable got pinched or it fell off the adjustment little valve. Do like he said, go to the center console on the bottom on the passenger side, you'll see where the cable goes, simply move the lever over and you'll feel the air through your center vents.

I will look and see what I can do. He said it was on the fire wall, do you agree or is that just for the heat/cold control. The cable that opens the vents is there too?

Follow your center console all the way to the bottom of the passenger side, slide underneath the dash and look up, you will see this:

or you could just follow the cable from your climate control down and you'll see where it meets up with this lever, move it to change positions and see if heat blows out, it should. move the control around and see if the cable moves, it could be pinched.

I moved that lever and that adjusted the temp control, what cable/lever adjusts the vents, and the path the air takes?

no the magnified pic is inside your engine bay, its the lever that opens up the flow of water from your motor into the car. I have helms on cd, i just uploaded em.

OK, I think I can see the levers on the left side, there are a few of them right? I would circle them on the diagram but I can't upload/download the image from work!
