Just wondering because a local guy offered me a used VAFC for a amazing price but I want to make sure I'm getting everything that comes with it new.
Anything I should look out for? Anyway to test if the VAFC is in working condition at a gas station?
TIA

Other than hooking it up, I can't think of any way. Maybe you can temporarily wire it up to the battery to see if it at least turns on....dunno how safe that would be....surge might kill it.

This is a real noob question, but what exactly is a VAFC and what does it do? It it for like on-the-fly ECU tuning? Is it the same thing as a hondata? I've always wondered this and never asked, any clarification would help.

There are people who will talk about how the AFC doesn't really "increase" fuel trim and can only reduce it. They are right, but I won't get into the details right now.
It's pretty good for simple adjustments to fuel if you have basic bolt ons. Don't be like me and use it for turbo tuning.

It's by no means something like Hondata. It basically alters the voltage to your MAP and either reduces or increases your fuel trim. It also monitors many other sensors such as TPS, rpm, etc. The V-AFC also has the ability to change your vtec engagement point.
