Default Dry port nitrous

I have a question, I have a 4th gen accord and I want to make it a little faster for now, but If and when I swap in the H22 I will want to be able to transfer the mod. Does anyone reccomend a particular brand of dry port? (preferably universal kit)I am asking about this because my engine is old, and I hear that dry port gives about half the power of wet but isnt nearly as volitile on the engine. And does anyone know if this is a DIY mod? I am okay at working on my car, but not the best. PS are there any other things that i would need to do if I got dry port for engine safety reasons.
Thanks in advance

Nitrous is a DIY job if you know what you're dealing with, if not it can take hours. and any nitrous kit is safe as long as its installed properly and you are not overdoing it. i would recommend the NX kits, their new kits come with pretty heafty solenoids and looks to be a lot more heavy duty than the basic NOS powershot kit. for nitrous i would have at least a fuel pressure regulator so i can turn up the fuel pressure when spraying if you want to go with a dry kit over the wet kit. this will help make sure you have enough fuel for the nitrous when spraying.

http://www.zex.com

it's dummy proof if you follow the directions and do what they say. easiest install and so far safest. it's kinda hard to mess up.
that's not saying your engine will handle the extra 55hp or however much you put on it.

Well, honestly I dont know whether I am talking about dry port or shot, educate me on the differences, and any engine-prepping I would need to do with either.

Well, I guess that's good and all, and i really apprectiate the constructive input there, I guess N20 is a touchy subject because you always seem to have informational posts on most other topics. I am just looking for a cost-effective way to make my car faster for now with what Ive got.

Here my mini-dummies' N2o 101
dry shot-cheaper, less hp, easy to install, entry level
wet shot-powerful sh_t, harder to install and yes, you'll be hooked
like drug...once you on bottle, driving without it sux major ballz.
Zex is very very safe and cost effective.
as low as 350 used.
but yes, refilling the tank do add up.

alot of ppl think n2o is cheating...
it's like that when a breakthough technology(they been around long time but
now they are becoming more common) become so
easy/cheap and open to public.(thank to FF ...NOS)

PPl always said it will blow up your engine if you on bottle..
yes, if you dont know what are you doing.
upgrade ignition system(timing+-,colder plug)
fuel system,etc.

It do add up tho', nothing beats the feel of turbo imo, N20-bang for the
buck.

Oh..forgot about your other question..
semi-stoned
shot=like a rating of the nozzle(n20)
55-65-75,etc
the more shots the more power(problem)
well, it's not that simple but yeah you got the idea.

no such thing as dry port.

dry shot=nitrous is injected into the intake to mix with the air before going into the engine.
wet shot=nitrous is directly injected into the throttle body or a fogger plate that is bolted onto the manifold, the nitrous goes strait to the fuel rail i think so it's "wet".
direct port=nitrous is injected right where the fuel injectors are.

i'm pretty sure that is how it is. if i'm wrong correct me, i'm not an expert. i think the NOS website explains the different types.

BOH!! i love nitrous.

go with either N.O.S. or NX. and yes, i have had experience with all of them, zex i did not like at all. its easier to install, but the output didnt match up to the rest. nitrousworks is good but i havent heard anything about them in a while.

After a little research I discovered that your statements were not false and were generally helpful in searching for a kit. I have found the kit that I think I want from NOS brand, (dry shot, not dry port). Does anyone have a preferred place to purchase the kit from? A delima has arisen though, there are two different kits that are sold -->01523 and 01522 -->Every website has a different idea on what the application is for the kits, Ha, I've got it, I think. I did some more searching on the official website, and it seems that the kit can do either "dry" or "wet" shots. Does this sound plausible to anyone educated on the subject?

I am not planning on using larger than a 50 shot in any circumstances, but the website says that I need to retard timing by two degrees (damn), obviously change the spark plugs, and run the highest pump gas available (92+)
This is from the official website BTW
Ill do a search on the specifics of timing retarding, but I might just take it into a shop and have them do it because I am poorly tooled

on zex kit, 55 shot is stock timing, 65 shot retard 1 degree, 75 shot retard 2 degrees....so i'd think it would be around that for other companies with HP ratings similar. it's not hard to retard the timing.

How would you go about Retarding the timing? I did a search but could not find anyone that said how to do it. I guess I'll check the other nitrous posts now, just to see if it has been covered in one of those.
Edit: Nevermind, My Haynes manual has instructions, thanks though
