Here is a little synopsis:
In about two to three years I will be done university, and will be looking into buying a 'used' Acura/Honda. My two choices would be either a 2000 Canadian model Honda Civic SiR (American Si), or a 2000 model Acura Integra Type R.
Now, I'm stumped as what would be a better car at that time, so you guys/girls can help me decide. Give me a little insight as to why you voted for which car, and the pros and cons of both vehicles - if you know a lot about them.
Thanks in advance for the help.
By the way...
Acura Integra would possibly resemble this, and it would be either Championship White or Phoenix Yellow:
Honda Civic would possibly resemble this, and it would be either Electron Blue Pearl or Milano Red.

I voted for the ITR.. but then again I am bias
Before I bought my ITR, I was trying to build my 2000 Civic into an ITR... I found out the hard way that it is MUCH cheaper to just buy the car that I wanted....

What about theft rates of the ITR? And winter driving? Motor reliability come three years? These are all issues that trouble me. And parts! Are they more expensive for the ITR?

If we told you one way or the other now, how would that exactly help your purchase 2-3 years down the road. Life is too unpredictable and 2-3 years is a long time from now.

You might want to ask the same question in about 2-3 years from now. A lot of things can change. (i.e. new models coming out, old models getting all beat to hell, your taste in cars, life, etc.)

It's not a tough decision right now, but when the price comes into effect, then it will be a tough decision, let us know how much for both...
Trust me, you will want the ITR. My brother has a Civic SI (SIR in canada) and after driving both, the SI leaves me wanting more, and the R puts a smile on my face.
LOL!!! Sorry...question was funny to me...
I use to own an SI and it is nothing compared to an ITR. I guess it all comes down to what you want to do with it. Even then it wouldn't be too tough a decision.

ITR forum..i think you should know what the answer will be

It looks like it comes down to the ITR. And thanks to the one that took the "poll" part away from this post! Great job.
I've had both.
There is NO comparison
While the Si is nice, quick, fun, comfortable and has a nice gear ratios and a peppy b16a2, I was completely amazed at how much 'better' every aspect of my ITR was when I first drove it. Amazing.
Sure, you will be able to find an Si cheaper than an ITR (both used, obviously). Although you'd be happy with the Si, the ITR, IMO, is 1000's of times better in very aspect.
Edit: I have never once missed my old Electron Blue Si since I traded it in and bought my ITR. Not once.

Chris. Thanks for the insight. So far, from what I'm seeing, a 2000 Type R is roughly $4,500 - $6,000 CAD more than an Si (w/ substantially higher Km), of the same year.
That's not too much more to fork out.
