Default Time for new brake pads and I have decided on STOCK

yep bought some new stock Honda brake pads 2 days ago. I chose stock because uhhh, I loved the stock brake pads. They lasted about 23k, not much brake dust, good in all weather, and no noise. Of all the things that I could have changed I didn't change this. What do you guys think of this choice?

Who cares about brake dust and noise?

The only thing that matters is better braking.

As you can see it's all a matter of what is most important to you.

uhh I kinda care, especially about crazy *** noises coming from my wheels everytime I brake. This IS my daily driver lets not forget and a EXTREMELY high performance and fast wearing brake pad is just not needed IMOP.

If you had CW rims you would notice crazy amounts of brake dust, its almost not worth washing your rims cause they get black after 20 min of regular driving. If you dont track your car the stock is just fine for street. Id definetly go with an aftermarket pad for the track though.

I use Panther Plus on my daily.

Gunmetal? What color is that? Nevermind, I can't hear you over my squealing brakes. It's all worth it when the pads warm up though.

Do you brake really hard? Because I have 23k miles on my car and the brakes still grab hard. Mine is a daily driver and I haven't gotten the chance to track the car.

stock is good.

I run race pads on my stoptech 24/7. I the god awful noises these pads make, esp b/c of the looks I get from the ricers hanging out at starbucks at night - LOL. Hopefully they'll think my car is broke and won't try to steal it.

yshi - who hopes he didn't just give away his secret anti-theft deterent

I'm running Portfield R4 pads for daily driving. They squeak like a freight train, dust like crazy, and make my front wheels look like crap. Would I change them.....NOPE

nope I don't brake really hard, actually I really don't need to put these bad boys on for about another 3k or so and my exact milage is 21899. I do drive aggressive though, CUZ its a type R and WANTS no no BEGS to be driven hard. I take her to the Redline and brake late into corners so my pads have seen better days but for the most part I'm extremely happy with honda quality

I just replaced mine with stock pads too. Stock pads are perfectly fine on the street.

I replaced mine with Metal Masters because they were cheaper than stock pads.

My brakes still work.

All is good.
