Default people with b16a's I need your help...

Can someone do me a favor? Check the oil pressure sensor unit thats to the left of the oil filter on your block.. can you check and see if yours is bolted all the way down? As in can you see any threads left over between the sensor and the block? I hope this isn't too conffusing.. Reason I ask is I think oil is leaking out of the sensor becuase its not bolted all the way down but I can't seem to be able to turn it anymore than it already is.... so i'm not sure if this is normal or not.. Thanks for whoever wants to help

It looks to me that the sensor is very close to the block. I don't see any threads, I'll get under the car and take a look later tonight.

Thanks bro.. yeah its hard to tell from the top but i didn't want to ask anyone to go underneath the car since it would be too much of a hassle.. thanks to anyone who can help though...

looks that way to me as well. You might want to pull the sensor and slap some Hondabond on the threads... that will seal her up good n tight!

Teflon tape? Are you saying wrap the threads in teflon tape and bolt it back in? How will it bolt back in if the threads are covered? what about high temp rtv? would that work just as well?

Im pretty sure is a 25mm, but if you dont have it use 15/16 it works just fine.

I am POSITIVE now that the leak is comming out of the oil pressure sensor.. I used a small mirror to see through the small spot.. now the problem is i used high temp RTV on the threads and then rebolted it on the block but it STILL leaks! not any slower either.. should i just get a new sensor? i dont see anything visually wrong with the one i got

Teflon tape is really thin and malleable, so it's able to conform to whatever small space, depending on how much you put on.

Wrap it twice around.

The RTV may not have sealed completely around the threads. The oil makes it harder for it to seal the block b/c it won't bond/stick to oil.

Teflon worked.. can't believe all this time the solution was a 99 cent roll of tape! Thanks ya'll

told you to use teflon. when use used rtv, did you wait a while for it to cure?
