Default Radiator/Cooling Fan

Ok, I've searched and searched and have read too many different possibilities, maybe someone has the right answer. Recently replaced bad radiator that was leaking fluid on top, temp. guage reading normal the whole time though, just below half way point. Totally drain old coolant including the block as well. Install new radiator, thermostat, upper and lower hose and cap. Add 50/50 coolant mixture with cap off, heater at full blast and let the system bleed out air pockets, but, the fan does not come on at all. Fan motor is good because it turns on when I turn on the A/C. Cooling fan fuse is good too. I've spoke to some people that said that the fan doesn't kick on until the temp. guage goes past half way point. Maybe need to replace a sensor? Any help would be appreciated.

take the car out for a drive, stop car (leave it on), pop hood, see if the fan is running. there's a way u can do the wiring to have the cooling fan on all the time as well.

Right, I've read that you can do that, but from what you have read, is this normal for the fan not to come on? Also, if needed I don't mind spending the money and installing whatever parts needed to fix the problem if it even is a problem.

test the fan with some wire then just hook it up the the battery...if it works then it works..! if it doesnt..replace.
my fan doesnt really turn on much...only when its been sitting there after about at least 10 mins maybe even after 15 mins.. or after i hit vtec a couple of times then park or stop at a red light....

its not supposed to come on right away. no need for "cooling" when the engine is cold....

The stock water temp guage isn't very accurate. I have an Autometer water temp gauge and i can watch it move all the way up until the fans come on. Once they come on i watch the temp drop 5-10 degrees. While this is going on the stock gauge doesn't move at all. Have you replaced your thermostat?

Also depending on the ambient air temp the time for the fans to come on can vary alot. Like the above user said, take the car for a ride but stop driving before it gets close to operating temp.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I recently changed my thermostat, I waited for my fan to come on for about 10 min. It never did. I'm thinking that because I have a fluidyne and it was cold outside, my car would probably never get hot enough for the fan to come on...at least in the winter anyways. The other day I sat in my car (waiting for my friend to get off work) for about thirty min. Still the fan did not come on. In other words, I wouldn't sweat it.

Speedymon: yes bro, I did replace thermostat. I did pay more for the OEM thermostat because it has the jiggle pin for air release which the $5.99 Autozone thermostat doesn't.

Well, alright, as long as I don't run into any cooling problems since I put in a brand new spankin radiator. BTW, if any of you guys need a killer deal go to http://www.radiator.com and pick up a metal rad to replace the plastic OEM. Cost me about $110 and if you live in Orange County, CA you can pick it up will-call over in Anaheim. Beats the dealer price of $460. Phuc that.
