Default Intake Resonator Removal?

Has anyone here taken out the intake resonator located below the air box (at least on my '94 LX)? I hear it gives the intake better access to air, and slightly helps performance. So is it worth the effort, and if so, are there any instructions online describing how to remove it?

Thanks for such a fast response. Do I need to take off the wheel in order to do this? And does it help the air intake by removing this?

You can keep the wheel on, if your lowered you may need to turn the wheel or jack it up a little so you can reach all the fender liner screws. Yes, it does help get air to the intake better, because you will now have a hole that goes right into the engine bay under the intake.

yeah just like he says. I think its four bolts. and then you just fenagle it out.

sounds better. drives better. and at the least you can consider it weight reduction.

take off the resonator and put in a drop in k&n air filter and you're set, you have a good intake system w/o the risk of hydrolocking(if u had a CAI)

I took mine off when I did my Black housing headlights, I had to take the bumper off, and there it was, so I removed it. Easy, I think it was 4 bolts???

if you want, you cna rip out the whoel air box and resonator, and just get a cone air filter, and put it at the end of your intake....works wonders.

Yeah, got it removed...took a little more work than I thought it would've taken, because I wasnt able to take the resonator thru the wheel well, and instead took it out by removing the part of the inner wheel fender that goes underneath the car. But anyways, its out.

I've had a K&N filter in my car a while, but it doesn't reach all the way over to where the stock airbox was. I'm just trying to decide whether extending the hose would be to my benefit or disadvantage, because making air travel longer makes it slower i guess.

Thanks for the help.
