i have a 91 hb with a b18a, the car has a jg pro series head and is going to be getting a built bottom end. it's going to be a nitrous/all motor car. i'd like something that won't kill me when i'm racing off the nitrous. i was thinking maybe a b16 cable tranny. any recomendations?

get a GSR tranny with the twin trac unit from www.azracemachine.com They are very nice, and affordable, units. Compare the price of the twin trac in a gsr tranny to the price of a type r tranny with a factory lsd.

 

i would run a jdm b16 tranny with lsd, or an ls tranny for the longer gearings. try to stay away from hydro trannys cause that will only make more work for you.

 

The "twin trac" LSD is the same as the Phantom grips. They are a big waste of money and don't work worth a ****. I guess you get what you pay for. IMO

Your best bet with a tranny would probably be the Y1 since it is the cheapest and easiest to find out of the cable JDM trannies. Plus it isn't geared so low like the S1/J1 so you won't smoke the tires so bad. IMO
