Default Damn hood!

Well heres the story. I was trying to find this guys house that's selling a intercooler. It was about 10:00 p.m. and he lives down a dirt road. I turned down the wrong street. So i go to make a 3 point turn and wind up getting stuck on a tree stump. The stump was under my tranny. My buddy comes with his truck and pulls me back off of the stump. Once i get to a gas station i open my hood to make sure nothing was broken or leaking, luckily it wasnt. But when i went to close my hood it wouldnt close all the way. It latches, but its sitting about 1/6 in too high. Everything seems to be fine in the engine bay, and i tried adjusting everything on the core support and the spring on the hood, but nothing has worked. Could i have bent something underneath the car that would cause the core support to be bent slightly? That is really the only thing i can think of. If you guys have any info on what could be wrong i would really appreciate it.

The same bending happened to me, not in the same way. I uses something to push the whole front part down where the radiator sits and the part right under where the hood latch is...worked for me...

The same thing happened to my hood.

There is a bar that runs vertical from the bottom of the body to the cross bar that contains the latch. Probably when you hit the tree stump it pushed the bar up bending the cross bar up slightly. After much adjusting with the latch spring the hood would close, but now the hood latch release has a differnet feel to it.

Either taking mine to a body shop to fix that crossbar or just eventually going with hood pins.

Yup, that is the peice that i bent. But i didnt bend it nearly as bad as yours. I guess i will just have to beat the living crap out of it with a hammer today and see if i can fix it. If i cant fix it, im going with carbon fiber hood and hoodpins.
