Default V-AFC with OBD2

Hi all, I'm thinking about buying a VAFC controller, only trouble is my car is a 98 Type SiR Lude and I'm worried that the ECU will learn my new settings and detune my car

Has anybody done this, I did a search and didn't find much on it.

I know you can reset the ecu on switch off but I've heard (could be wrong) that if you do your meant to leave the car idle for 6mins?

Is this true? How quickly will the ECU learn the settings as well?

Thanks all!

Dave

you can do the OBDll work around. it makes your ECU work like an OBDll. go to ntpog.net and look under DIY. i have never heard of anything about detuning it. but i know that the OBDll changes the setttings. does anyone know the answer to this question?

white wire with gold stripe on it. .. hmmm if no one posts, I will go look at my car again and tell you where it is..

but once you find it..
CUT IT.. (but remember to cut it far enough back so if you screw up you have enough wire to solder together to reconnect the wire.

every 150 or so miles (dont remember the exact number) the ECU goes out and checks every sensor and makes adjustments to the engine accordingly.
If you cut the wire, it kinda forgets to go out and do the check on the engine.

Thanks, wouldn't this prevent the car from checking the engine if there was a genuine error code?

Thanks again!

U don't really have to do this. If ya tune your A/F for 90% full trottle and up only. See my post in this thread:

Thanks matey, some great advise here!

Shame OBD2 such a PITA, in japan you can get remaps easily done and disable the dam sensing without too much trouble, ah well!

Cheers again, really appreciate it!
