Factory Honda Radio Plate????
Alright guys I have a 88' DX and I have never ever seen this on any other honda. Instead of a radio I have this plate that takes place of the radio that just says honda. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this or if this is just something that someone has put in place of an old factory radio.
At the time these cars were new, any car that didn't have a radio standard got this. Which technically for the ED's would be all of them, since they all came out of production facilities in Canada or Japan.
After the cars were unloaded from the boat at the port, they got put on the truck and sent to the individual dealers. The dealers "prepped" the cars, which for these cars meant adding floormats, pin striping, radio, etc. I.e. they tack on a bunch of stuff so they can increase their profit margin.
So the funny thing is the dealer probably had a pile of these that they just threw in the trash. Along with the antenna hole plug and the front bumper plugs for the license plate threaded holes, etc. that everyone is looking for now.
I picked my car up the day it arrived on the transporter, it has the plate your talking about.

I want the piece that goes in place of the radio to show you don't have one without having a big *** hole there. I don't need a piece to put a radio in with.
yeah, I need the radio delete plate as well. IM me if you have one for a decent deal. BTW--$20 is not a decent deal for a little piece of plastic!
I'll try the dealership if all else fails.

hey yall i got genuine oem jdm windshield squirters, jdm taillight wiring, authentic jdm rear seatbelts...real cheap... i just find some jdm stuff funny...but put some pics up in case i ever make the civic a weekend racer or somthing...dd right now though...gotta have the bumP...!
an alternative would be taking some black textured plastic sheet that you can get at just about any custom car audio shop. It resembles the delete insert that you are talking about, but it's just a sheet so you get to cut and fit it in on your own. Ifyou want a permanent delete plate you could cut the sheet oversized and bond it to the back of the radio hole with some methane chloride. It's a solvent that bonds plastics... works great!!!
I have one that came out of my si, i'll look at see if it has a honda pn on it, if so, you may still be able to order it since most honda radios are the same size.
