Default 98 GS-R, Next mods?

If i were to get cams, would itr cams or ctr cams be better? Any other mods, neglecting nitrous? Thanks

I would look into a VTEC controller, or also (my next engine mod) Venom 400 Control module. it sells for roughly $400. It increases power up to 25% between 1000 and 5000 rpms, so it helps your your low end a bit and from friends of mine who have it in there civic's and integra's, they sey it works awesome...so look into that. i know nopi.com sells 'em and i think modacar.com or other places.

i know ur craving more power and i think everybody here on HT does. but instead of dumping a grand into ur car using our opinions, save more and when "YOU" know exactly what u wana do with "YOUR" money, dump that in. buy thats just IMO

Well i'm actually planning on giving it a nice healthy 50 shot ot nitrous, but i also wanted some "all the time" power. So I've found some itr cams for 270. So just wondering what i should do. If anyone has i/h/e and itr cams let me know how she runs. Thanks, SUGGESTIONS STILL WELCOME thanks

i got ctr intake cam, cam gears, i/h/e....and little crap here and there. I like it, its realiable.....drama free since its oem cams. But i still dont think i'll make 170 hp....i'm sure after i get my skunk2 manifold on, bbk itb, and tune it......i should be makin good power, but we'll see. Just save up....and you'll know what you want when you see it

i don't think a shot of nitrous is all that healthy for your engine!

hmm for under a grand, i've been pondering wht to do next to my car i might work from the bottom up but that is not a grand that's more like 2-4 grand. so for a grand this is what i would do :

buy some ctr/00-01itr cams you can find them for about, best price i've seen them go for is 350.00.

so then you need springs to go to 8400 just for the intake side because stock gsr retainers and exhaust springs ar the same as the type r. so that's another 90 bux new off of acura automotive parts.

so then you can get a carsound cat from my friend on TI for about 130 with all the welded on parts you would need as well as extra welds around the shields so they won't rattle.

then the Hondata s100 program 200 dollars

aem cam gears(heard they've gotten better and are almost dead one with their degree markings) 150 bux

so that's

350
90
130
200
150
=920 which leaves you the two days to put all that stuff in and then bring your car in to the closest hondata program center and have them tune the **** out of it for 200 dollars. the only other thing that would be a wise decision would be a fuel pressure regulator(that would throw you 30000 bux over budget). but if it were me i would want one if i wanted that much, 170, hp at the wheels, because the car won't get there unless you have one.

what do you guys think of that $1300.
