92-96 prelude brakes for 6 gen accord 4 cyl??????
I have a 2000 accord lx. I have shitty drums in the back. I want disc and I was wandering what parts would be needed to do the entire conversion (i.e. abs). Also, would the rear brakes off of a 92-96 prelude work?
i dont know if the 92-96 prelude rear would work but i converted my drums to disc using the whole rear suspension along with the ebrake lines off a 98' 4 cylinder ex . since the lx doent have abs i just cut the line to it...the 98' up accord are had to find but its possible if you look around. i got mine at one of those car auctions where you buy totalled cars (i went with a friend that works for a body shop)...the price wasn't too bad. i think i paid like 250 total after i sold everything else that came with the car like the leather seats and stocks, which isn't bad for a full rear suspension, only thing is that i had to pull out everything myself and that was a BI*** to do.
So you dont have abs on your car? The brakes all work properly too? Thanks for the idea, I will check my local junkyards. Would it be possible to get a detailed list of all the parts that you needed to swap out?

Was setting up the ebrake cables difficult? I recently purchased 2000 Accord Type-R(U.K.) brakes and will be doing a complete brake swap and didn't know if I could use existing Lx ebrake cables. The Ebrake cables connect to a lever on the rear caliper to activate it right?

list of parts are simple:
just take the whole rear suspension and the ebrake cable...that should be attached to the rear brakes already just make sure you unhook it from the ebrake handle and pull it out.
after that just swap out your suspension and bleed out your brakes...its a good idea to just flush out your whole system since its good to flush your brake fluid about every 60k or so anyways. after you bleed it the brakes will work fine..
i use to have the f23a but now i just got a h22a swapped in

the cables are basically universal...all you do is unbolt your center console and remove it.
at the base of the ebrake handle you will see two lines attached to the ebrake handle with sort of a bar on the head ( thats so the ebrake cable wont slip out from the base of the handle)...just turn the bar and unhook the cables and pull them out of your the car with the suspension and then feed in the new cables from the new brake system and hook that into the holes where the old ebrake cable was attached and your done.
just bolt your center console back in and you can use the ebrakes...
hope i didnt lose you in all that babble
