which motor mount kit to use? b18c + hydro tranny into an EF.....
hcp?
place racing?
hasport?
I'll need to use a hydro tranny (98+ itr), and I think maybe SFP made a kit to use the stock cable with this hydro tranny... not out yet though.
Anyone?
Which mount kits are "best" and mount the motor closest to the firewall?

I usde HCP, and I would recommend them.
Why do you need to use a hydro tranny? Is it your preference, because you can use an older cable tranny for your swap.

i would suggest a hasport driver's side and rear mount, bolt both in, and weld brackets once the car is on the ground and the motor sits level. anyone else have other suggestions on how to mount the trans?

preference is because i already have the complete '00 itr tranny and motor.

I also feel like the hydro tranny is stronger than cable (imho). And am determined to do this, so I can have my swap be as compatible as possible to my '01 itr as well...
I like that last guy's comment. I think I've seen that done before here on the board - some guy with a white EF and itr tranny and motor. Total sleeper.
I don't really see the need for welding of any kind. The HCP kit bolted my B18C very nicely into my crx. I have no issues with the placement of the engine, and in addition I can close my hood, which I heard is a problem with some other kits.
As far as the tranny, you could sell the hydro and get a tranny and use the exta cash for mods. However if you want to do it I say go for it
, it has been done. As you said someone on this board did it into a crx. Do a search for it in the archives.
Either way good luck

If you want to use a hydraulic transmission, you have only one choice - Place Racing. Nobody else makes a kit that allows you to bolt in a hydraulic transmission.

Hasport are working on a kit right now to put Hydro trannies in cable clutch cars.

From what I understand, the hydro tranny is actually longer (not gearing, but physically) than the cable type. From what I have seen, you need to cut a lot of material from the passanger side subframe and then weld in some new support to make it sturdy again.
i have a friends that tryed puting a hydro into a cable car and got a new cars just bacase he couldn't do it or find a tranny to replace the one that blow up
he could find cable trannys but every body wonts a arm and a lag for a y1 or j1 and then you still don't know if you geting a good one and nobody wonts a ls tranny
If thay could make a kit to put hydro into a cable car it would be nice for all of us with a cable tranny that are going bad like me.

This seems to be the easiest way to do the swap...
I found this other thread which makes it a lot more work:

I have a ITR tranny in my EF civic. I have the old style Hasport motor mounts, which I modified to be able to bolt the hydro tranny in. I am using the LHT Performance cable to hydro adapter. I have had this in my daily driver for about 8 months now with out any problems. The LHT Performance hydro adapter works great, you still get the excellent feel of a cable operated clutch but with the durability of the hydro tranny.
I hate cable trannies.
Black R has a super low mileage Type R engine and tranny, so whay in the hell would he trade down to a miled-up cable tranny?
Cable trannies have a much shorter shelf life on the whole because not only are they old as ****, but their mileage is uncertain and rebuild parts are nearly impossible to find.
Stick to your guns Ken - keep that low mileage bad-*** ITR tranny.
Cable trannies are notorious for 3rd gear synchro crappage.

. I did mine on my first swap I ever did, as long as you take your time and don't cut corners, you'll wind up with an awesome combo under the hood. When I started, a lot of people told me it wouldn't fit, I'd have to cut out the frame to accomadate the casing, blah, blah, blah, not true as I found out. There is a link above to some rough guidelines on how I did it, if you need anymore help, feel free to IM me.BTW, I used HCP, and I have the white hatch you mentioned
