need opinions/advice/possibly prices
here's the deal guys. i was thinkin about getting a b16a to swap into a crx and throwing a 50 shot on, BUT (you know there's gotta be a BUT) i was thinkin that for the dough that i would spend on a b16a i could get a a b18b(??)(ls engine, sorry not familiar with all the engine codes) , throw a set of cams in it and the 50 shot and have a car that is pretty close to the quickness of the b16a. what are your opinions on this? any advice for a new honda dude?
thanks in adance

LS and 50 shots arent that bad
my buddy has a CRX with LS 50 shot wet and slicks..and he managed to squeeze a 14.4 out of it.....they are very good engines... or u can get a B16 and be able to run 15.1 stock and 50 shot and be on same grounds...
its all on how much u want to spend and if u want the power to be just when u push the button or all the time...
IMO stay away from N2O and go VTEC

Got boost? Don't be a bitch Adam, you know you need to have a turbo after having your DSM.
If I had a CRX and I was looking to save money I would get an 89 CRX and put a cheap ZC or D16Z6 in it and turbo it.

my objective is to get a street car that is mildly quick that i can use for a daily driver and not spend over 5k getting it to that point. i'm not concentrating on a track time i just want something that has a little more pep than every other ricer in town but is reliable. i like boost alot but turbo's and honda's dont seem to be a very cheap thing to build and the abunndance of headaches my dsm has given me so gratiously is not something i want from 2 cars. bottom line is the ls with cams and n2o or high cr pistons a better decision than a b16 on the funny fuel?
k lets see it this way..
u had a turbo car... didnt like it bc of headaches.
hondas are nice with turbos as long u lower compression and build them right
u want a mild fast car... a B16 CRX will be good.. (just drive one and ull know)
N2O its not very happy with honda engines.. specially if u spray a lot and get a dicted to it.... and i guess if no turbo or N2O u got ur only last option VTEC... get a VTEC yo and dont make ur life more complicated

the B16 is a much more rev happy motor. takes well to nitrous. the rings have other things in mind past a ~75 shot.
buy a B16 swap, and later get a hold of an integra ls or gsr block. 1.8's own.
plan to spend about $2000 for your swap if you do the work, i do B16 swaps for $600, quite often.

Ran a 75 shot on a B16 for 5 months HARD before I totalled the car. That thing was a blast to drive, never had so much fun. I am not a fan of the LS motor without a vtec head. I think the b16 is one of the best engines in the world reliability/power/fun. But that's just me.
