do they make a 1988-1991 b16a vtec jdm. cause someone on ebay is selling a 1 generation jdm b16a vtec and i didnt think they made vtecs in 88-91

the 89-91 JDM Civic and CRX SiR came with a B16 as well as the 90-91 Integra XSi.

 

rite, its 89-91, those were the first vtecs

 

Not to be a jerk, but SEARCH. Yes, they made a VTEC b16 in the 4th gen SiR that was made in Japan.

 

I think to tell you the truth, searching wouldnt have even helped him. Because he is looking for a straightfoward answer. He is definately new to the honda world, if he didnt know that. Most of the people here on honda-tech atleast know that. I usually say "Please search" if something has been covered a million times like something technical related "how do i swap a b16 in my CRX"

Something like that, but this guy calls a link a "hyperlink" so cut him so slack.. atleast i would. So while everyone is saying search search? where is there a post that you know of asking the same question?

Sorry about that, kinda a rant. BTW: 88-91 crx sir's and civic sir's were b16's, and so were XSi and RSi integras.

Oh yea sometimes, alot of people say search this and search that... i think sometimes they just try to imitate or are sucking up and hoping for cheap back up.

the B16A first came out on the 89 CRX/Civic SiRand integras Xsi and Rsi like someone else said... its a B16A (no A1 ending) wich its denominated here in the states as a B16A1 . JDM engines on B16A dont have a number ending... its not like the USDM B16A2/A3/A4.. u can tell if its a B16A 1st gen by looking at the letters on valve covers.. its DOHC its bigger than VTEC... if VTEC its bigger then its a second gen...
