Default h22 question

I getting a jdm h22 swap for my 97 accord 5sd so I want to stick to obdII. It is a low mileage motor for a good price, but if I go lsd, it will be from an older motor. Should I get the older (more abused) lsd tranny or just stick with the newer non-lsd tranny? I want lsd but don't know if it's worth it since it will be older???

I would use that $300 or so extra for a Honda LSD and save up another $400 for a Quaife LSD. It's much better and when the Honda one breaks you can't fix it.

This a daily driver and not a strip car, so is the quaife really neccessary? I mean will I break the jdm lsd daily driving and such?

lsd is not really that necessary if your just going to daily drive anyway. it helps you corner too along with giving you 2 burnout marks.

So, you wouldn't suggest lsd for a daily driver (only car)??? Everyone I talked to said go with lsd, just in this case I am debating if the newer non-lsd tranny will be better.

it's nice, but if you don't plan on racing it or really pushing hard then it's kind of a waste of money. I would like one if a could have afforded one when i did my swap.

if you want to race.. it will lower your E.T. and give you more power to the ground in turns.

get the LSD. I hate the freaking torque steer in my car when i push it. For normal driving its ok but when you give it some gas you will want the LSD. Definitely get the Quaife LSD!

go with the newer motor without lsd. the obd2-->obd1 conversion will be more of a headache than upgrading to an quafe lsd. who knows, you might not even look into getting one. i don't have one, and i don't really have an overwhelming desire to get one anytime soon.

I would also go with the newer motor. Although the shape of JDM motors is sometimes iffy.. plus they are from right hand drive cars.. so wiring them up is a bitch. I would recommend doing the OBD2 to OBD1 conversion as OBD2 will seriously limit your potential and gains.

wiring them is no different then wiring a usdm motor. you don't use the harness that comes with the engine, you use the accord harness.

you have to extend the wires and solder 2x instead of once per wire.

Let me say it again, I AM buying an obdII jdm h22 that has a non-lsd tranny. My only question was should I keep that tranny or get the lsd tranny (which will probably be older) and put it on the SAME jdm obdII h22. I do not have to deal with converisons as the motor is obdII and my car is obdII, the tranny doesn't make a difference, nor does the wiring.

LSD or NO LSD, that is the question...
