everyones opinion on the LS/Vtec
Personally I tryed to do one and I found out that it cost alot more than any swap to do it right, every one quotes the prices of the parts and adds those up and yeah at first its cheaper, but then when doing anything that drastic there are always a few hundred $ in the little parts, and the most expiensive untold story is labor, im not gonna lie, the self turning/wrenching on my car goes as far as bolt-ons and basic maintenance, and im sure i speak for most people when I say I gotta pay someone else to do a ls/vtec, and to really do the ls/vtec where u can spin it like a gsr/or b16 cost way to much.
If you're going to put it into high RPM's, might as well stick with the regular vtec blocks. You only save money by building or doing stuff yourself. I spent $700 puting my ls/vtec together with the exception that I already had a B18A block and a B16a2 engine. That $700 was spent on little parts, tools, clutch, piston rings etc...
$700+200(block)+1,500(B16)-200(selling b16 block)= a total of $2,200 spent on a street/strip setup LS/Vtec.
Beats the price of a, Type R motor etc....with the fact that it produces just about the same hp output as the stock type r. Reliability is still an issue, but mine still runs strong.

i love lsvtec but do ur homework!!https://honda-tech.com/zeropost?cmd=reply&id=3920131
I believe adding ARP rod bolts to factory b18a rods makes the LS block able to deliver 8200 rpm revs easily. I have reved the **** out of mine for about 20,000 miles now, not to mention with civic type R pistons. You must be very particular with oil clearances and you should be fine. That is my word about it...

well I have done my home work, and its kool and all to be different and have an "LS/Vtec" but how are u trying to be different in a honda? anyhow all im saying is that they arent cost effective, to make the las/vtec work right and last cost alot more money than everyone is saying
and you can make an LS/vtec take 8200 by putting the gsr gurdle on the crankshaft, but the bottom line is doing all that sh*t cost to much.
