Anyone got a pic? I'm concern about the look and how the unit will fit because the surface is sort of curve and on the left side, is a slant that will create a gap. I don't want it to look "getto." Please post a pic if you got one of your unit and how it fit in your G6 Civic.

Well GLD, I don't seem to have a direct pic of mine, but theres a spacer you have to buy that fills in the little gap on both sides, its got a curved edge on the left and a straight one on the right.

Any Stereo shop should have it

 

i don't have a pic of it, but i have a 96 civic.... this will work in all civics 96-98....I put my stereo down by where the cupholders are..... i have a dx so all that was there was a compartment, other models may have a tape or cd player there..... bolts right in with little modification (bending the metal bracket slightly)....

i chose that spot so potential thieves so the stock stereo and think nothing else of it.....

 

Good idea. Did you do the installing there yourself, or had a shop do it?

nope, i did it myself.... like i said, very simple..... the harness that goes to your stereo is long enough to go down to that spot.....

the holes in the metal bracket hidden underneath the plastic actually lined up with the holes in the stereo, so u can bolt it in......

the whole lower center console has to come out to get to it though.....

 

Those are good idea's about the lower compartment, but I think I would just stick to getting the mounting bracket for the stock position. It's cheap and when it's in you can't tell a difference.

Most shops, e.g. Good Guys, Circuit City, etc. will install the head unit for free. If something goes wrong, it's alot easier to make them eat it then to have to troubleshoot yourself. *In other words, it saves you time*

Is there anyway you can:

1. Comment on the left coner of the deck, where it's slant. And the overall dash is sort of "curve." Does the deck look like it's sticking out?

2. Is there anyway you can provide a clearer pic.
