Default Flashing battery light on gauge cluster

Is this a sign of a bad alternator? It's only sometimes that the battery light goes on or is this some kind of electrical problem? It's not the battery because i switched batteries. Your help is appreciated.
by the way i have a 90 accord lx autotragic.

Same thing happened to me until my alternator finally gave up. Your alternator is dying. Have it checked at a local auto parts store. Check the plug first to make sure it is making a good connection.

alternator is diy for me. pretty simple. Takes me about 1 1-2 to 2 hrs. So it sounds like the alternator is go bad? Its not cheap but i think i still got warranty under autozone on it. If not i gotta accord im parting. Alternator is brand new if i rememer.

First of all, (if the battery you replaced it with, isn't new then I would test the water. And second of all you need to be in a shop to test your alternator. You need shop testing equipment to determine the problem.

My battery light came on once too. That was when I had it to the floor at about 5,000rpm. I felt a sudden kick of acceleration hit and so, my alternator belt had disentegrated. I replaced It, but I am a dumbass and just can't seem to make that thing stop sqealing when it starts, I guess Ill have to adjust it for the third time this weekend if it isnt too cold<--Texas weather is irradic.

20 mins.?? woow! 1 1/2-2 because its cold *** hell outside and gotta run to the parts store to grab the new alternator and return core. And plus this is your a 4th gen. Gotta take the power steering pump out to make it much much easier.
