well for the past 2 days i have spun out TWICE(180s) doing right turns!!!
#1 yesterday lunch time downshifting to 3rd from 5th gear exiting a highway on a U turn shape.. (rt22/i78 for you PAers) no damage to car missed concrete column by a clean flat spin.
#2 today this morning at 4am going to work.. ENTER rt22/i78 at a different exit. i was flying in 2nd came around turn(another U shape uphill right turn with a nice bank to it just like other exit) about 50mph let off gas to 45ish for a sec and accelerate out of turn once i did that car did a 180 did a longer slide then last time and spun into the grass, no damage.
front camber is prolly 1+ rear is perfect.. 195/60/14 front tires are 50% and rears are 95% condition. car is stock height.. whats my problem besides excessive speeding around 25mph rated turns?? If I lowered it and got shocks would this go away?? how can I keep the lightweight end of my CRX planted? 90CRX Si btw.

you autocross, so you are willing to learn.
it sounds to me like it's your driving pattern more than the car. 1) you don't downshift in a turn. 2) don't let off the throttle in the middle of a turn.
I don't know EXACTLY what happened when you spun out, so I could be wrong, but those sound like the problems from what is described.

I think you need to slow down before you kill yourself or someone else!
Leave the racing for the track. If you really want to learn how to control your car and set it up right for spirited driving, go to a driving school.
Also, the tires you have are mostly what dictates how much grip you have back there. Get someting like azenis, that will help.

hey man its 3-4am in the morning deserted roads.. i'll take the lecture/bitching for the lunch time one though.
ha
hadownshifting to 3rd from 5th gear exiting a highway on a U turn shape..
about 50mph let off gas to 45ish for a sec and accelerate
you lifted.. NEVER LIFT
unless your throttle steering, and you weren't..
when your in the middle of a tight turn and you lift off the gas the wieght of your car transfers from being balanced and happy to the front of the car, taking the needed wieghto ff the rear, then you get to see what you just passed up.
drve safe..
letting off the gas and jumping back on it is most likely the culprit. plus the uneven distribution of your tire tread...get new tires in the front.
Sounds like you downshift going into the curve and are keeping the clutch down... your letting the car slow down before letting the clutch out but its still causing a weight transfer to the front of the car (like when your nose goes down when you shift at the wrong time). This is putting more weight over the front of the car cause the rear to lose traction and spin out.
Ok, I admit im stupid and dont have a clue what im talking about!!

http://www.turnfast.com it tells you good stuff on how to drive fast and safe
Never mind. Just saw how old you are.
I guess young people pay more for insurance for a reason.
And yes, I bet you are the ONLY person on the road at that time in the morning.
good luck to you!

drop the car about 2.5 inches
get some gas shocks (koni yellow is good)
get front and rear struts bars (ebay is cheap and works decent)
get some rims, 15 0r 16 with some 205 tires.....
you'll notice a BIG difference in the handling....

ha $520 every 6 months PROGRESSIVE.
the same thing used to happen to me when i was running my del sol rims and tires 185-60-14 i would be in the gas all the way around and the back end would step out, but it was controlled. Now i have 16" rims with 215-40-16 yokohama a520s, the *** end doesnt step out at all anymore, so get some better rims, tires, and lower it and you shouldnt have a problem, oh and never lift off the gas in a corner.

Yea, throw money at it...always cheaper than learning to drive
Example local auto-x pracitce. A friend of mine trying to get close to my times in his car. was running 58-59's me running 55.5's. He was complaining about his car not handeling and needed this and that to catch me. I ask him if I could take it for a lap and give him my opinion. Bam first lap in a car I have never drove was a 56.2!!! My answer to him was "Before you waste money LEARN TO DRIVE"
