a couple of days ago on acident i missed a gear. I was exiting the freeway an dropped from 5 to second trying to go into 4th. I was really tired or someting but i was going 60mph and my second gear tops out at 55mph. It hit my rev limiter once then i quickly pressed the clutch back in. Luckily i didn't blow my motor. Do you think that I messed up my motor?

I would think not. The motor seems to pull fine? Accidents happen and I'm sure you not the only one to make a mistake (weither it's missing a shift on up shifting or down, or just bouncing it of the rev-limiter) BTW that's what the rev-limiter is for. You should be fine
i bounce off the rev limiter all the time prolly everyday.. never have i miss downshifted and redlined...
is this bad for my engine??

Luckly factory ecu's have rev-limiters. People have told me that missing shifts is ok to do every once and a while, may make you need a valve adjustment a little prematureley. However, a guy I know just missed a shift in his s2k, and is now spending 8K on a new factory installed engine. He said he shifted from 5th to second, or something odd like that. He may have a chipped ecu with no rev limiter though. Ryan
