hehhe i miss the sound of the engine when i cranked it up with just the header after the swap... sounded like a a full on hot rod 
You should have seen the looks I got from people.
Yes a header will change your exhaust tone.

I drove my car 5 miles to an exhaust shop like that.

does it make more noises, YES, but you can reconstruct your exhaust system to try to make it like stock.

Stew, did you just disconnect the header from the cat, or did you take the cat completely out? I cant get away with complete removal, but I want to know how much the exhaust tone will change if I just disconnect the header from the cat.

yeah its really loud, i am running open headers right now on my CTR motor, with JDM 4-1 headers things a beast, once vtec kicks in the sound is so beefy everyone just stares

stew when you drove to your friends house ( 2 miles away from where ever you where home i guess) with no cat .........dude was the exhaust smoke like unbarable. was it a full on smoke-screen. lmao i can just picture this. and the noise

when i put my header with my test pipe/high flow cat..the exhaust buzz and shake like hell, the silencer in my exhaust rattle like hell..

when i was installing my ws exhaust i turned on my car for sh*ts and giggles w/ it open after the cat and damn it was loud and rumbled like a hot rod for reals.
