ok b16 swap in 90 crx si, my hub is fubared, so i went to the junk yard today, and took my sir axle with me, started sticking it in hubs, the 89 crx dx, didnt fit, couple integs didnt fit, LOL hf 88 crx didnt fit. derrr.


but a 90 civic 4 door did, i think it was a lx, had drum breaks in the rear. hmm. if it fits, can i use this hub assembly? it fits ok. as in the axle goes in teh hole, but will this thing bolt up, the ball joints and what not?

grr this is the only thing thats putting me back in the swap.

also the 90 crx hf they have there has a perfect door, will this bolt straight up? it has the door mounted seat belts, so i think tehy should. and they want 150 for the door. ouchy

oh well

so yeah 90 civic hub assembly, will it work with 90 crx si, with sir swap?

No offense but did you stick the right side of the axle in because of an 89 dx the axles will fit on the hubs. its what i run on my car.

lol yes i did. i went to the salvage yard, and they had a dx/si hub assembly. and we tested it, and sure enough my axle was too big for the hole, she was like a 12 year old virgin. it wasent going in. grrr

so yeah is the 90 civic 4 door the same hub assembly?

What I don't understand is that if you have an Si, why won't the Sir axle fit in any other si hubs but it does fit your stock Si hub???

 

Don't be an a**hole. You obiviously were doing something wrong, as 88-91 Civic/CRX DX/Si hubs are the same. The LX will bolt up fine (ball joints and such), the only issue I would think about is brake size/caliper location. I'm not 100% positive if they are the same. I would stick with a CRX part, 88-91 DX/Si to ensure 100% compatibility.

PS..Are you looking to replace the entire knuckle assembly? Is that f***ed up, or is it just the hub? If you get a new knuckle from a yard, it will likely need the wheel bearing replaced, and possibly the hub itself. If this is the case, just replace the hub in your current knuckle. (~$80 I believe for the entire hub).

 

sorry i am just very very frustrated with my crx right now, its a love hate relation ship. yeah the dx/si 90 knuckle iddnt work, so were gonna try this 90 civc one tonight. only 25 bucks! good deal.

oh well thanks agian, i would try a honda crx knuckle but cant find one.
