Default How do you get an after market cd player out of a 95 civic ex?

I have a cd player in my civic and I need to get it out because i need to try to fix it. I was wondering how to get them out. Does that front face plate come off. They gray one. If anyone can post detailed instructions on how to remove the cd player I would appreciate it. Thanks

-did you buy the cd player new? It should have come with keys to remove the cd player from the sleeve. If you don't have them don't worry.

1. Remove the trim ring from around the deck
2. Slide two butter knives or something similar into the left and right sides until you hear a click or the deck moves freely.
3. It might be easier if you remove the lower console, so that you can reach around to the back so you can push it out.

If you break it, oh well. Most of them are interchangeable and can be found at local dealars for less than $5.
