Default clutch cable position

well i did a search and read a bunch of post and nothign rally helped me out. I have a question about the routing of the clutch cable.

the cable has a metal ring crimped around it (about the middle of the valve cover, where a raket to help hold it is.) do i need to place the ring on the left or right side of the bracket (as i face the engine) or does it matter? I was lookign for a pic of it to help explain, but couldnt find one quickly of the cable. (a basic close up of a valve cover shoudl show it)

#2 what is the correct procedure for adjusting the clutch. (going form hydraulic to cable is throwign some wreches in the process.

here is a pic to help reference the adjusting.

i already haev everythign in place but teh lever would have to be pulled way up to get the metal ring onthe left side of the bracekt.

thanks guys

i would think that it would go to the right to give the cable something to yank against...but then again, i am not really sure what you are taking about without going to look.

tighten the cable up until it is taught, and you can pretty much set the engagement where you like it. by tightening or loosening.

doesn't matter on the whole thingy holding up your clutch cable...keep a 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance from the throwout bearing to the pressure plate, otherwise you'll end up replacing both of them

don't force the cable where it doesn't want to go, and yeah have 1/4" to 1/2" of play, i'd say more on the order of a quarter inch
