Default 500whp non-VTEC prelude motor (dyno pics, etc.)

Just got my new site up with some dyno vids, pics, etc, and I thought the prelude community should hear a true turbo prelude on the dyno.

Here is a link for a 486whp run (on a mustang dyno) done @ 22-24psi.
http://www.autozeal.com/brad/brad04.wmv.
Must have Windows media player 7 or higher to view (requires WMV9 codec download - automatic!)

For more vids and pics, visit Preluderacing.com

Here are the engine mods:

Fully built H23A motor

Custom Turbonetics 62-1 turbocharger (polished)

JE oversize pistons

NICE! I remember XES from the HondaPrelude.com days...we would always have to link to your setup.

Are these numbers adjusted for elevation? I seem to remember the air being lense dense up there.

The dyno numbers are altitude adjusted, but the runs did take place on a Mustang Dyno. Typically Mustang dynos yield values 8-12% lower than a DynoJet.
The expected whp & torque values are as follows:
530.5 - 550.1 whp & 433.5 - 449.6 ft-lbs torque

Given a 15% loss from the engine to the wheels, expected flywheel values are:
610.1 - 632.6 hp & 498.5 - 517.0 ft-lbs torque

Piston size is 88mm, while cr is lower than stock...(i.e. lower than 9.8:1, but not in the 8:1 range). The pistons were custom made by JE last year after I went through 2 shitty sets of Arias pistons. I highly recommend not using Arias -quality and customer service are weak. Anyways...why run anything other than what the pro's (NHRA imports) are using?

wow, awesome. and on a mustang dyno.

i thought my 450whp at 18psi on my old ls/vtec was impressive.

very nice. it's good to see a big dog prelude instead of so many integras and civics like mine.

very nice numbers.

Ok you are saying he ran a 12.3 @ 118 ? His time slip says 12.4 @ 112 with a 1.8 60 ft. I can run a 13.8 @ 110 mph with 12 psi and still keep hitting 2.6 60ft .His times should be alot lower than that. How much psi did he run then? But then again I only put down 386 whp at 20 psi. But really nice setup though. I was just curious about the times there.

he's at 3700ft elevation.

cars have different traction problems at the track. though he put down 500+whp, it's tough to tame on the track.

my 99 gsr spun it's slicks on the track. and they were 24.5 inch slicks.

Very impressive setup! Props
Sounds like you'll run some sick times with slicks and a limited slip.....either that or break axles like crazy
