I juss came home from teh dealer and i rushed to my comp to share this and show off to u guys. The dealer is Miller Honda from Van Nuys, California and i went there today because my gf's 03 accord sedan was due for pick up. On the front lot, i noticed a black coupe, which caught my attn. I knew it was auto so i was like blah......and i passed by and thru the side of my eyes, caught a glimpse of the round shift ****. i was like WTF..........and i asked the salesguy. He said they were lucky enuff to get one so early and wont get another one for a very long time. He sees my 02 coupe and my gf's 03 sedan....and says: for a reward of being a true honda lover, i'll give u the honor of driving her, (points at the 6 speed).

Throttle response is just unexplainable as i kept tapping the gas at 3rd gear and the car constantly jerked forward. The engine is ultimately smooth, i couldnt hear a thing even when i turned off the full blast AC. The dealer guy then told me to open her up a little after the turn and i went for it. I sure could feel the 240 hp working excellently with the 6 speed and gear shifted thru the gates smoothly and quickly. Ratios were damn close as i could only do about 35 max on first gear. Redline was pretty high for the engine....6500, giving me lotta room to play around with. Brakes were very sensitive, no slipping or lagging. However, only flaw i saw was the ceiling material, which i feel that my 02 ex has better ceiling material.....but who the f*ck cares about that anyways.......tires chirped here and there as i floored it for a several times.

As i drove back to the dealer, i could not believe that i had driven this, esp when it is this rare. It was a good day.

anybody woulda done the same thing. Atleast from my opinion. If i didnt work the car, i dont think there woulda been a point of testdriving it.

 

all new cars get the **** beat out of them during the PDI, so deal with it. The 7th gen accord V6s haul ***.

 

the dealership i work at also got a black 6-spd last week and i had the honor of doing the pdi. put 10-11 miles on it and every mile was amazing. im not like the other techs who beat the **** out of the cars they PDI, i kept revs under 3500 b/c i wouldn't like it if someone did the opposite when i was buying a new car.

do u guys think i should get the accord v6 6-spd or the s2k? i know they're not in the same category but still...

 

Don't nag me but I work at a Chevy dealership ( hey it's a job) and we got a shipment of trucks in today and on the hauler truck was a 03 v6 coupe. I asked the driver if he would let me drive it when he got it down to get to the other Chevy's and he said sure. To bad it was an auto. To tell ya the truth it didn't feel that fast at all. I liked the interior though!

 

Accord, for the comfort, utilty, and its "sleeper" side, though it will have a reputation of its own pretty quick it seems.

It's our responsibility as Honda factory trained technicians to drive the **** out of the PDI's.

I know this is HondaTech.com but what's up with Nissan? We have Nissan and Honda at our dealership. Nissan has really picked up the slack the last couple of years. It appears they're really trying to appeal to the Honda performance crowd. The six speed Max and Altima with the 3.5L put out 255 hp and 240 hp. Both have decent handling for their weight (Honda definitely has the edge hear). I've driven the S2000 and the 350Z and I have to say...damn, that Z is fun to drive!

 

yeah the 350z has much more torque in the lower rpms but i would still pick the s2k, its a better car all around.

sorry, razor, but i MUST disagree. i would much rather have a 350z than the s2k.

 

Depends on what kind of car you are looking for. Full-time daily driver? Get the Accord. Weekend/Summer time car? Hands down.. S2000. I've only test driven the '03 so I can't comment on that, but I've logged some heavy mileage in the s2000 and it's awesome. Just depends on your needs.
