well to get to the bearing, you need to pull the drum off and take the shoes off as well. then you need to pop the metal cover on the hub to get to the nut holding the hub on. once the hub is off, you will most likely need the bearing to be pressed out.

i think that should do it.

On drum brakes, just remove the wheel, then the drum. There is a nut and washer holding the hub on. Remove it and the hub will come off. Don't fool with the shoes unless they ned replacement. Press out the bearings and reinstall. I went to the junkyard and got another hub assy and so far it's lasted fine. No pressing bearings etc.

thanks for the clarification! when i was doing the brakes on my GF's car, i removed the shoes to replace them and then removed the hub to get the wheel cylinder off. so i wasn't sure if you had to take off the shoes or not.

the shoes do not have to be removed---use the 32mm. axle nut socket you used to remove the hub to smack the bearings out with--I've been there my way works fine.

The rear wheel bearing and hub are sold as a 1 piece unit.

About $75.00-$85.00 at your local auto parts.

Its very easy to do just take off the nut ,pull off the hub and put on the new one...probaly one of the easiest jobs to do on the whole car.
