Default 97 Transmission Swap

I got a 97 Prelude (non-SH) with a bum trany. What I would like to do is put in a used trany while I get mine repaired. I have heard that the transmissions on F and H series are interchangeable. If anyone has any knowledge about this or know someone who might PLEASE let me hear from you!

Yes you can use them all....F22a, H23a, 4th gen H22a they will all work. But they will suck compared to the H22a one..the H23 is your closest bet..

how long is this repair taking? Swapping a tranny for a short period of time would be a ridiculous waste of money.

I found a used trany from a 93 accord ex for $125. It has high miles but I really don't care about that because it will only be in my car for the duration of the repairs. As for the length of time I really coiuldn't tell you because I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with my own.
