My new JDM toys just arrive
My new toy for 2003.......KYB Super Special Gymkhana damper. Many many "thanks
" to Waiwho help me to get this damper, and answer countless question I had. I'm waiting for the main spring arrive for install and I just can't wait to show you some pic first.
The damper will go with some Swift springs !! (big thanks to BlueR for helping me to find them) and spring rate will be F12K, R8K.
The KYB damper weight about 4.5 lb each and with the (lightweight)Swift spring I'm going to use, I think the total weight may be lighter than the stock spring and damper
I will weight the stock one when I do the install.
I will post some review when I finish the install !!
sorry the pic is a not too clear

I've done about 6 events with these dampers and here is a short review/spec:
Short stroke, steel bodied, height adjustable, monotube, 45mm valve diameter, and 4-level dampening. The price of it is reasonable and the performance it offers is great. It can handle up to 20K (1120#) springs without revalving. Based on their track performance, the impression so far is great. I'm impressed by the dollar-performance value. The dive, squad, roll is very stable and for bumps the car settles very quickly.

Oscar I wanna drive it!
Ya can't let Dave drive it first and tell us how it feels, his *** dyno can't feel my Final Drive
Any ways we should hit a nice few Autocrosses before the expo to try out all the little toys we all got before we get silly at the expo... Some of us can't make it to the Evolution school OR VIR before Expo so Autocross is a nice cheap way to play...
Nice stuff Oscar, you know I took an interest in them when you mentioned them a bit ago on another suspension post I'd been following.
PS now Me and Dave will be almost as loud as you.
