Default Thank you RSR

so i ended up thinking about my gsr and the more i thought about it the more i figured i could affford the insurance. I've had a couple ideas rolling around in my head. First would it be better to go with a full two point two five inch exhaust setup or a two inch header collecter stepped to a two point two five inch high flow cat and then a two point two five inch exhaust. Well i am going with plan "A" and, to compliment that, i am hoping to throw in type r springs on the skunk2 stage one or 2001 itr cams, a hondata s100 program tuned and if i pull the block(that's if i get ambitious) , i'll throw on a slightly thinner head gasket to get a slightly higher compression out of the engine(something like .4%). Hopefully i will have th e loot to sleeve the block. i think i could pull some decent numbers at the wheels. hoping for 180. i am going to tune the secondaries as well so that i can take advantage of the added air.
there is also a plan for the tranny. i like the gearing and have always wanted to get through first and second faster so i am goin to throw two more thigns in my tranny: 98 ITR lsd and 12.5lb. flywheel.

as far as suspension goes i am planning on adding one thing because i already have the setup: 22mm sway bar.

how's that for an autocross setup for stx, i drive fairly aggressive as well.

So now your saying why is hte title named "thank you RSR" well its because i just found an RSR 4-2-1 stainless steel header that has a two ppoint two five inch collector. This will allow me to get a step in the right direction.

if you guys wna tone at $260 shipped go here http://turboimport.com/catalog/integra.htm

What kind of gains does the RSR exhaust output compared to other 4-2-1's...or maybe the 4-1's?

the old school stuff on that site is all orignial RS*R not skunk. those are the old school exhausts and headers. as far as performance gains aver any other header i couldn't tell you. i have yet to see a dyno on the rs*r header. but have been told that when RS*R racing was very big they had a n/a car equipped with my new header and exhaust that ran the 1/4 mile in the mid 11's. but that is here say. the only thing that matters when setting up your exhaust is having no bottlenecks. if you have a2.25" header cat and exhaust you have no bottlenecks, same with 2.5 all the ay through. now if you have the standard 4-2-1 or 4-1 by say dc the collectors are all 2" and then you have to go to a 2" cat to a 2" or larger exhaust. more flow=more power

there are usually bottlenecks within the exhaust, in an aftermarket exhaust.

WHen i install the header i will take picks of hte exhaust. there are no bottleneck onit anywhere it is stragiht mandrel bent 62mm piping which pulls in slightly bigger than 2 3/8 outer diameter and 2 1/4 interior diameter. the colletor size on the header is exactly 2.25 with the same outer diameter which means the use just as thick a metal for that as they do the exhaust=good long lasting. throw on the cat and its done on the exhaust.

I've got(or had ) one of the original RS*R exhausts on my 99GSR, love it a lot, high on power, low on noise, and it will soon be on the hatch, later

Nice I have pretty much the same setup, rsr header/exhaust, aem intake and some konis. I love the exhaust sound. Lip on the baord had a dyno of the header and he said it breathes pretty well down low and mid range but it doesn quite hang with the jdm 4-1 up top (obviously). All in all I'm happy except I paid 300 a while back for mine

I think your search for a 2.25" collector header is gonna have to continue. RSR 94-95 header has a 2.00" OD collector.

If you think about it, any header made for straight bolt-in for a USDM integra is gonna require a 2" collector. Reason, so it can fit the stock cat. Same thing for the Japan integras also, 2.5" collector so it can fit the stock cat.
