Prelude Type S
What can i do to my Lude Sh to make it a Type S. Like some people do to their civics to type r civics w/o just puttin the type r decals on,lol. What are all the parts? And how much more hp and what 1/4 mile time does it have? I know ill probaly need a throttle body, intake manifold etc etc. Would really appreciate the info.
Peace

New engine and some cams, other stuff but i'm not too sure. Basically not worth it in my opinion. The engine is like 4grand? I dunno I can't remember the price but its out of stock at JDMHondaParts.com. Basically just take your money and get some stuff for your SH. The Type S has like 10 extra horses and LSD I believe. But who cares you can take like 4 grand and get more out of it. If your broke just rip off the H in the SH sticker lol
I'd rather have a fast SH than a stock TYPE S

The JDM Prelude Type S is Basically like an USDM Type SH but with a litte more power rated at 220ps = about 217hp? Other then that little cosmetic thing such as badges, a red valve cover, etc. Both JDM Type S and USDM Type SH have ATTS. The JDM SIR S-SPEC is the one the has the 220ps engine, the LSD and the blue valve cover. I hope that helps. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Blue cover is the F20B DOHC VTEC from the Accord SiR-T, which is an H22a with a smaller bore and stroke in the block (2.0L), but a type-s head and 11:1 CR.

I was in Tokyo, Japan this past christmas, and saw the spec-s . Hard to tell difference besides the "spec-s" sticker in place of the "type SH" spot.
Edit: oh yeah forgot to mention they dont have the DOHC vtec sticker on the left side of trunk. At least i didn't see one on their 5th gens

The Type S has different cams, pistons, rods valve cover, intake manifold, tb and comes from the factory with a port and polish with a compression ratio of 11:1. I'm sure there are other diffences with the motor but without a Helmes I'm not to sure.
Type R H22A's? Theres an actual thing, I thought it was a myth among ricers
Not true. A Type-S prelude is possible(85-95%). If one was really hardcore about it they would buy new seats, dash, carpet, etc. (not to mention a right-hand drive assembly) This is far too much stuff to get when importing would solve it, however any engine modifications and or add-ons are easily(i throw that term loosely) acquired. Air box assemblies, plug wires, shift *****, etc. are found with some searching and/or connections to japanese distributors or if you are lucky an aftermarket parts shop here in the states could help. Type-S conversions(everything) are close to crazy(but would be damn cool), but factory Type-S parts can be located.
