Default Changing my bottom end to a...

Ok heres the deal..I want to change my bottom end to a B20. Right now i got b17a motor. What exactly do i need and how much is it going to cost to make my car b20 vtec. I obviously have the head so all I need is the bottom end. Are there any other modifications i need to do for it? if so, please help. and what would be the pros and cons for this setup. Is it worth it to do or not? thanks in advance.

It won't be as reliable as the B17, but if built right and not reved to high it can last a while. You will need to tap the head for Vtec, and it's the same as LS/VTEC. you will need a block guard, custom pistons, shot pinned rods, newly rebuilt bottom end, ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs. The list goes on and on. It all depends how much money you have, and how fast you want to go.
You can find more info if you SEARCH.

P.S.- since you have a G2, trying going to www.g2ic.com and seaching there too.

Thanks for the info, and I did search and came up with 2 results, but they had nothing to do with what im lookin to do. That is why i came here and posted so i can get more info. I always use the search feature before i post. Thanks for the http://www.g2ic.com site. I will be using that also for my searches.

i have CRV-tec!!! i like it and all..its cool and everything..but genuine VTEC motors are pretty COOL!! if i were you, i would SLEEVE YOUR B17 AND BORE TO 84~86mm!! ..$900 sleeved or B20 = $900 then you have to end up sleeving it anyways because the B20 sleeves can handle hight REVS....
Word on the street is RS MACHINE is the $#!&NIC (REALLY GOOD)...
EDIT: oh yeah..if you were to get the B20..you (i) would also want newer higher compression pistons because the compression ratio is 9.3:1....
DOUBLE EDIT: ...with a PR3 (B16, B17, ITR) head that is....
