Default Opinions on building an LS head for turbo?

What modifications would need to be done to the head to make upwards of 400 WHP on an LS motor?

All opinions are needed and welcome

Thanks.

That's a good question but I don't know if many people can give you an answer.

I haven't done it first hand but I would think that the first upgrades for an LS head might be some good turbo cams with adjustable gears and some stiffer springs with lighter retainers maybe. You could raise your rpm limit and get some more torque later in the rpm range that will give you a good boost in HP.

I don't know how much porting the head would help. Maybe with the increased high velocity flow of the new rpm limits you've reached with the springs you would want to run a short runner, large volume intake manifold.

I've got a turbo LS and I'm interested in other peoples ideas about this.

his gf is using a stock LS head, i think the plan on that car is to go too a bigger injector and a bigger turbo then use nitrous to get it over 400.

Porting and valvetrain are a very good idea

I wouldnt go with an aftermarket Intake Manifold since they work in the high rpms and you lose torque down low, so you are taking away the good part of the motor and adding power where you can't use it.

Cams are good if you can find some good LS turbo cams (good luck), so far I've heard of a few cams breaking in pieces. But this is just hear say, never seen it happen yet. Stick with stock Cams
