EK: Are Civic Si LCAs better than the Civic EX LCAs?
Other than the fact that Civic Si LCAs can accomodate the factory swaybars, are they really better than those on the EX? I am going to do a 5 lug conversion, and some people on this board say to put in the Civic Si LCAs because of the swaybars. The front Eibach swaybar is identical in diameter to that of the Civic Si and the Eibach rear is 2 mm larger in diameter compared to that on the Si and those will fit the Civic EX, so I figure why go through the trouble of getting new Si LCAs when I can get swaybars that will fit my existing LCAs?
EK Si front LCA's are made of stamped steel. The EX's are cast iron, and are heavier. Not sure exactly how much heavier, but you can tell by just picking them up back to back.
it is really up to you, the SI lca's like stated above are lighter and you can use the stock SI sway bar as opposed to aftermarket. Other than that really no benefit.
So are both the front and rear Si LCAs lighter than those on the EX? Would the fact that they are lighter yield better handling or cause me to feel any improvements? Also, I also hear of people mentioning of swapping in Si forks? What's a fork and how is that component on an Si different from that of an EX?
