Car Lowered, camber kit necissary?
My car is slammed... And I havn't been driving it very often because it is not aligned... Now I feel like I might as well go get her aligned, but I don't have adjustable cambers... DO you think on a GSR with coilovers and about a 3 inch drop, it is possible to align the car withough buying a camber kit???
ttt
This is an easy question c'mon!!!
Can the car be aligned if lowered 3 inches, without adjustable camber kit...

It can be aligned...just go to an alignment shop.
If youre asking if you need a camber kit, the printout of the alignment will tell you. It all depends...Im about ~2in with -2.5deg camber, and I have minimal uneven wear. I just rotate often.

Trying to correct the camber caused by a 3in. drop without a camber kit would be hopeless. Get the camber kits, install 'em, and then get it aligned properly.

It can be aligned but you will be changing tires often. 3in is a lot. I highly recommend a camber kit. I got one on my teg and after the alignment, the specs on the printout were almost to stock.

I personally would not want stock alignment specs, at least not as far as camber is concerned. Your main concern should be the toe-in and making sure it is as close to exact factory specs as possible. That is your best defense against uneven tire wear, along with frequent rotations. For camber it would be good to dial in somewhere between -1 and -2 degrees. This will greatly aid the car's handling. Stock specs calls for nearly straight up 0 camber, which is bad for handling.

I see blown shocks as well.
3 inches is not as low as you think...
I'm ganna raise the back so it's only lowered 2 inches... And the front so it's only lowered about 2.5 inches... I'll get it aligned as close to being aligned as possible...
Then when I am done saving for my supercharger I'll buy the camber kit... Not very vital right now since I barely drive the car...

my tires are wearing just on the inside and outside
Okay thanx...
How close to be fully aligned can I get at about a 3 inch drop with no adjustable camber... Just aligning the toe...

I think a 3" drop is too much.. there is going to be excessive camber and the car isn't going to be very streetable (at least not here in So cal where we've got dips and potholes and speedbumps in some cities)... even w/ a camber kit.. that 3" drop is still a lot....
I have my car lowered w/ Eibach sportline springs and Koni yellows shocks... the drop is approximately 1.8-2".. I also have 16" wheels w/ 205/45/16 tires my camber ranges from -1.8 deg to -2.1 deg depending on the corner... I didn't get a camber kit for the front.. on the rear I did the cheap washer trick but I got the car aligned making sure they have the TOE angles in check .. I also rotate my tires at every oil change 3K... and I get an alignment approx every 10K or so yeah I know very often... but my tires are wearing fine and don't have excessive wear on the inner edges or odd wearing patterns... at $100+/ea for the Dunlop SP9000's I'd be pretty pissed off if they wore out because of bad toe and camber...

i would say 3 inch is too low for a integ. my boyfriend had his integ lower 3 inches, and it looked real sweet. except his camber was all screwed up. he tried to take the car to get it align, but the alignment shop told him that they would try to align the car, except after a few drives it would go back to the same as before.
besides that, his tires were getting worn from the inside out. i would say he went through about 2 sets of tires per year. before he got his camber kit, just looking at his car you could tell that his tires were really butterflied. I would recommended you to get a camber kit and save yourself some money on tires!!!

Time to raise the car
1.5 - 2 seems good to me...

Yeah had the car on jack stands and I was trying to raise it, but I couldn't reach the things you have to turn to make t higher or lower... I was about to take off the rotor, and caliper, when I realize, I don't even know which way to turn the ******* thing... Do I want the slider to go up, thus compressing the spring, or do I want the slider to go down, thus elongating the spring...
Me and my friends sat for 20 minutes pondering which way would make it higher... When we all got lazy and decided not to go through the trouble, and to try to find out online.... So far all the coilover adjustment DIY's I've seen, don't even tell you which way is to raise the car, and which way is to lower the car....
