aem cai has loud hum???
i have a 97 prelude...hydrolocked the motor w/ aem cai on the car...got a new motor...reinstalled the aem cai...now coming from the right front of the car i have a loud humming sound, the idle jumps around, but you can just tap the gas and it'll stop.??? anyone ever have this problem or know what it could be...help much appreciated....this noise is so annoying!
alright, i got a 4th gen. But i think i can help. First off, the idle jumping sounds like a vacuum hose. Theres one that should be plugged up on ur fuel injection. Its the first one on the back of the throttle part looking at it form the left. Thats one should be plugged, but there is another one that controls the actuator or something that I plugged when I did my install, and I started havign the same thing. This vacuum hose should not be plugged, it comes form the far right side of the pfi (fuel injection) base unit. The hose goes left all the way towards the battery. On mine, its got a special clip holding the hose above the throttle area. This oen should be free to go. That should stop the jumping, and as for the hum. Maybe its not connected together right, check for air coming fomr spots that it isnt supposed too. Maybe its your bolt holding the CAI down. If its not right, it'll rattle. My lefts n rights, are fomr in front of the car looking back on it. Just for your help.! Hydrolocked sucks man.. You got sumtin to take car of that? I think it a neccesity... And what u got? Right now, i got a cheap screen on parts of my pipe, actually 3 pieces of screen and one tshirt. They are at the connections. Cheap, invisble, and temporary...
well i checked all the hoses and they appear to be connected correctly...i still don't know what is wrong??? anyone else have any ideas? thanks.
