sorta ot: to to check for lsd, lift from wheels off the ground, and turn. if they turn opposite of each other, means you have lsd? mine turns the same direction..
same direction = LSD
different = open
different = open

Since you have no load on the wheels, it'll still probably spin opposite directions.
The ITR diff either works or it doesn't. No in between. I would be hard pressed to believe you broke it unless you:
1) Make mad monkey power and drag race with huge slicks.
2) Went airborn on one side for at least a second and had the pedal all the way to the floor. Hell, I've gone airborn on a side for a split second every lap on some tracks, and it still doesn't break.

Taken from the Helm manual
Limited slip differential
Operational check
1-Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels
2-Raise the front of the vehicule and support it with safe stand.
3-With the engine off, shift the transmission in first gear
4-Rotate either front wheel by hand and check that the other wheel rotates in the
opposite direction.
5-If the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if you cannot spin the front
wheels at all the limited slip differential is faulty and should be replace.
Hope this help.

As said before, wheels will turn opposite directions with or without lsd.
What about the proximity switches that are on the back of the break back plate. I notice a problem with tork steer sometimes. thought it was the alignment but it was fine. I thought about cleaning the the ring on the cv hub. I don't know if the thing is magnetized or not.
