ok for thoes that dont know i have been having alot of problems with my b17 in my 90 hatch, the distributor messed up on it and i had to re-place that.....then one day i was sitting in a parking lot letting my car warm up and it just shut off well come to find out the motor jumped timing completly......now i am not the greatest when it comes to working on my own car but i have alot of friends that are good with them and i was finally able to get one of them to come help me....and we got everything working right

BUT the best part the whole time i have had this motor in my car(about 9 months) vtec has never worked.....and david was able to get that working for me today also.....the car feels completely differnt.....i am just so happy right now....dont know what to do.....gotta go get used to this thing

I rode around for like a month after my b16 swap with no vtec and I was really dissapointed and frustrated. I figured out the wiring error and all was well. I know how your feeling. Enjoy your new car!

yea the car feels totally differnt now that i have been driving it all night
i excited because i have some money to spend on the car but i didnt wanna bother unless i could get it running right so now maybe i can go through with some of my plans i had for it

 

i hsave a jdm gsr on my 92si. i did the swap thanksgiving, till this day no vtec. code 23 knock sensor ive been to lazy to wire up my knock sensor.

 

bout dam time . jeez i thought i was gonna have to work on it there for a minute

i drove my car for about 7 months without vtec after i got my swap. i know how you feel. i couldn't stay out of vtec the day that i finally got it working.

 

haha that excatly how i was last night....gotta add a few things this week like timing belt,water pump, and cam seal cause mine is messed up and oil goes everywhere

I also have yet to be able to feel my vtec. The time is soon though. Last night we figured out it was a wiiring problem!!! I cant wait. Ryan

 

If I had a v-tec motor in my car with no working v-tec, I wouldn't sleep till everything was working properly...

Just my opinion.

 

mine didnt have vtec for 5 months....mashed the car around all day after we figured out the problem (knock sensor wiring)

 

i am glad that i am not alone with this problem
