performance radiators for 96 prelude vtec
I am thinking about buying a 96 prelude vtec and i had the car checked yesterday at hon*amotive they said that they found a hairline crack in the radiator and would replace it for $338, however i was planning on upgrading the radiator to something like a fluidyne. because it makes no sense to buy a new radiator then change in 6 months to a different one. Unfortunately i have been most unsuccessful in finding high performance radiators that will fit. so my question is does anybody know if there is a company that makes one? and if so how much does it cost?
Tommy go for the fluidine. It will cost just as much as an oem product from a dealer. If your biulding up your engine in a crowded engine bay like the H22 takes up get something that will cool her down quickly and surley
your right u shouldn't buy another stock when you can buy a performance. I can get you an PWR performance and if you need a costomize one no problem. If ur intresed let me know.

How much.
Todd needs a big radiator, stock ludes don't, if you don't wanny pay much , 115$ for stock style Koyos are on Ebay, and the work great.. A bigger radiator isn't going to do **** unless you get a lower temp thermastat and fan control.. Its a complete waste of money, hell, my car doesn't overheat racing in 100+ degree heat all summer and I don't have any radiator fans on my car...
Its ok, don't believe Satarn SRV and I, we abviously are complete idiots for not wanting to pay $400 for something that isn't needed, unless your boosted....
Oh yea, your also adding more weight to the car w/ the more fluid the big radiator will hold, and on the nose of it, the worst spot..

OH, I forgot to add: Corey and Satan are both correct. So I third their motion of don't bother with an upgraded radiator.
I only need one cause I'm going to be running a T-66 on the open road for long periods of time. My car isn't "normal."

I've had some trouble with the stock rad... My car was overheating on the race track days with it.. I'd only get 10 or so laps before it was right off the stock temp guage. I had to run the heater on full with the fans hardwired to even get close to finishing a session..
To be fair tho, my rad is original with 90,000 mi on it.

let's not jump all over this thread yet. he said he would just end up buying a performance radiator 6 months downt he road anyway. who knows what he has in store for the car.
i used to run a fluidyne on my h22a accord turbo. got it for $415 shipped from absolutradiator with one fan included.
even while n/a, it's not a bad investment. especially cars that drive daily in 100+degree heat in the summer, with their a/c on all the time in stop and go traffic. of course a different thermostat would be recommended with the radiator install.
my boosted h22a accord never overheated in 90+degree days with close to 90% humidity boosting all day long. i think they're great investments.
