1) They're all the same (stock 8,400 rpm).
2) Define faster. ('00 & '01 a lil more agressive intake cams - CTR).
3) Don't mind what you heard!

So then the newer ones are faster? (with equal drivers)
My car is completely stock minus an exhaust and intake...is my stock tach off by that much?

I think the fuel cut off is around 8600-8700 rpm and stock tachs are usually off a couple hundred rpm. That is probably why it looks like you are hitting 9000rpm. For example VTEC kicks in at 5800(I think) and on my tach it shows 6000rpm exactly, so my tach is off by 200rpm.

Tachs are off by 200-300 RPM according to a PGM tester. They are rated as the same. The more aggressive intake came, (which is separate from the CTR), is suppose to make up for added emissions. So they should be the same. We all the yellow = faster though so there ya have it.

That makes sense i guess...oh well you guys need to go past 8,400...200-300 rpms makes a big difference.

1) Redline is 8400 (Per Honda Brochure)
2) Fuel Cut is 8500 (PEr Honda Brochure)
3) Tach's definitely off
4) 00/01's are typically a little faster and seem to make 4-5 more hp Stock.

I had a 2000 and sold it, then bought a 1998. THe 200 stock vs stock was definitely stonger. It had more pull and the dyno backed up the feel. THe 1998 was down 8 hp and 7 ft-lbs of tq on the 2000.

I had a 00 PY-R (stock) and when I compare it too my mildly modded 99 CW-R, the '99 is 20x faster and VTEC crossover is louder and more aggressive. Go figure......
