crx's are poor mans cars..lol.. read...
Its funny but true, the crx is for cheap people.. well like 75% that are bought to be modded... Cuase only like 15 on this whole bored are fast.. who cares about looks... I mean if you have a 12.5 sec or lower crx post.. Otherwise your not worthy...lol..
why buy a 30k$ car when you can buy a crx+motor swap for 1/6 the price and be just as fast or faster? crxes are one of a kind and are beautiful imo.
There for cheap people?? Man prices for aftermarket Honda parts run around the same amount so I dont know where you get that from?? Just because the car has a better base to start from to be a faster car doesnt mean that someone is cheap?? OK so how much do you have to spend to not be "CHEAP"?? I still dont understand your stupid opinion?? I mean CRX's are becoming harder and harder to find in good condition unlike 92 and up Civics which are a dime a dozen. Plus there are plenty of people that drop plenty of money into their CRX's to go fast. And sure maybe there isnt a lot of people running 12.5 or lower ET's with their CRX but some people build them for other reasons besides the strip or maybe they just dont want to build it to do it?? As for only like 15 being modded man you better go back to school to learn to count because the last time I checked even just a simple DPFI to MPFI is considered a mod. Plus what about all of the people that have done motor swaps in their CRX's?? What about people that do I/H/E??? Is that considered a mod in your small mind?? I think you should get your facts straight before you start blabbing away....Oh and thats just my $.02? But maybe that was too cheap of me??
ok i guess i'm not worthy... riigghhhtttt!
anyways like the guy before said. why spend all that money when you could do it for less. now, i wouldn't mind having a WRX or 350z, but i love the way the CRX'x look.
when my car gets done, i would have easily spended over 6k on a car i bought for 1400$. that to me is a good deal, not me being cheap!(nice car/good timeslips)
anyways what kind of a car do you have? and what numbers are you running?
i still don't get the point of your post...

Yes, you found me out. I'm poor, got bills to pay, got debt, school loans to pay, insurance, and got a bad weed habit, and am on a really tight budget. If I was rich I'd be rolling in an NSX right now. But love my rex regardless.
cheap ppl that want to build race cars. i love slappin mustangs around like hoes with my 3500 civic.
mustang just a white trash ferrari

I must be cheap and poor since I owned my CRX, TL-s, and a 00 ES300 at the same time.
Besides the fact I owned 3 CRX's beforehand.

No , the CRX is not a poor man's car , though poor people drive them .. the 4th gen Civic is seen as the ultimate poor man's plastic car in Europe.. though it's reputation stands as the model which has very few problems besides the known rust problem .. And they have GOOD handling , even bone stock
NOW THIS A POOR MAN'S CAR

hmmm... crx's are for cheap people... you drive a 90 hf... you too, sir, are cheap
hehhee, i get a lot of comments like this, and they are kinda funny.
If i wanted a fast straight-line car, i'd buy a LS1 Firebird (they look better than the camaros).
If i wanted an excellent handling car, i'd buy a BMW of various sorts.
I like to autocross/open track... racing a Firebird would be a good choice, it has the power, RWD, but... insurance is too high, and if i stuffed it into a wall, i'd be out of a lot of money. Same with the BMW.
So, I buy a honda. parts are readily available. Relatively cheap to modify. Even cheaper to replace ($1800 or less for a new chassis). I think it's moronic to be wheel-to-wheel racing with a car that if you crashed, you wouldn't be able to immediate replace. That's why I have a CRX. inexpensive. good power-to-weight ratio. handles very well. and above all, readily available.
So, yes, CRXs... Hondas in general... are poor man's cars.

What do you mean by cheap? Be more specific and detailed, because if I was cheap I wouldnt own a $3,000 Rolex and a $3,800 Brietling as well as a $10,000 plasma TV.

i guess i'm cheap too. yeah, i bought my crx for $250. yes that's cheap, but i'm also paying for school, a car note on my honda accord, insurance, and credit card bills. so until i win the lottery to buy a car with an outrageous price tag, i will remain cheap to maintain my daily driver, get an education, have insurance to drive my cars, pay off my debts, and YES... even fix up my project CRX!
so until then, i guess i'm not worthy to you -- but then again your thread makes you not worthy to me.

you sir are a ***..... i have a turbo'd LS crx... and many of my friends and team mates have low 11 second cars and what do you mean cheap??? ive put so much money into my rex... over $15000 and i dont care.. crx's are great platforms.. light weight, great aftermarket, and they atleast were in abbundance when i purchased mine.. now EG's are much more common.... adn what is the oint of this stupid *** post!
you have to notice he has a 90 hf, lol, not bad, but it is the cheaper of the models available, and have less features.
i know this guy in person. not very well but nonetheless i know him. larry your not under 12.5 so i guess your poor too??? my car is not better than his but he only has a dohc zc with a little mods and he starts this post?!?!?! haha
12.5 is weak.. when you want to take it to a real track, or autocross course, then you can talk. anyone can drag race. skills are hard to come by.
I almost bought a CRX not to deal with high payments and insurance but i broke down and got a 97 Lude SH. I love it though. Fast and great handling. And great styling. The only thing is the 329 payments and the 250 dollar insurance a month since im a great driver. Ive always loved CRX's but everyone around here has one. I drove my homies with a b16 and i smoked a camaro z28 and the look on the guys face was priceless. He has other mods to but they are great cars and easy to modify. By now if i got one i would of alreasy had it turboed runnin 13 to 12's. But i love the heavy tank of a car preludes so i went with it.
Peace to all you CRX's heads.
