3-Point Front Upper Strut Bar a worthwhile upgrade?
I've got my mind set on maybe purchasing this 3 point strut bar. Same as Carbing, but without the bling silver look and costs a little less.
Features I like about the bar:
- 3 Point is stiffer than 2
- No pivot points like OEM ITR, Spoon, etc
Is it worthwhile to upgrade? I'm currently using the OEM ITR Strut Bar.

You might want to look into the new 3-point brace from JG Edelbrock, below. It will fit w/o modification onto LHD cars (unlike the one pictured above, made for RHD cars and can possibly interefere with the master cylinder reservoir). It also attaches to BOTH the stock shock tower brace bolts AND the upper control arm bolts, both of which are better locations to mount a brace than the upper shock hat nuts.

Yeah I searched earlier and did find out about the JG strut bar
In reality though, do you think it would be noticibly stiffer with a 3 point vs a 2 point?
Can someone who has owned both or a 3 point shed some light?

I like that Rigid bar too, for the price and the design. The only negative thing I have read about bars like the 3pt Benen, Carbing, Rigid and new JG Edelbrock that have the firewall mounting point is that they are not legal in some SCCA AutoX classes.
People who have them say, they really stiffen up the front end.

I will not be auto-x'ing so it is not a concern to me.
Patrick means it was made for a RHD cars and that the MCR would not be in the way on a RHD.
So with a LHD and the bar, the MCR is in the way and you need to take the bar off to do work on your MCR.

I have to wonder how much you'll feel it.
also, do you have to drop the struts to fit these like the carbing requires?

uhm i believe you are mistaken if u look at the car..IT IS LHD...battery and cylinder is in the normal USDM position...correct me if im not seeing anything or if you were talking about another pic...
And the bar must really make a difference, since the SCCA sees it as such an advantage that they don't allow it (or any sort of triangulated chassis brace) in the stock classes.

Well, they've always said it in all of my math classes, all the way through college, that the strongest geometric shape is a triangle, so i think the bar works quite well!

the reason for the price difference between the Carbing and Rigid bars is bc the carbing is aluminum and the rigid is steel...there is quite a bit of weight difference between the two

The bar is made by Rigid.
Check under X-mas specials on their page to see the bar.
Rigid Also makes a pivotless rear upper strut bar.

it's not made by AJR, it's made by Rigid, I think.
i installed my benen 3 point bar the other day and the difference in handling is like no other. Compared to the stock gsr and itr bar, the triangular design lets you turn corners like a champ. I hate the fact that the SCCA doesnt allow it since i bought it for autoX. I have the front upper benen bar along with the 2 rear spoon bars and the only thing stopping you from wiked corners is your tire grip. So you should get a 3 point bar. -

wouldn't stiffening the front that much produce some mad understeer though?
