Default Gonna buy an EP3 this week, what price should I try to get?

I've gone to 2 dealerships in the area. At the first one, not only did I receive rude treatment, but they also didn't have any 02 Civic Si's left. (I am guessing the heavy discounting will be only on the 02 Si since they have an entire year to move the 03.)

At the second dealership, they have 4 Silver 02 Si's, 1 Silver 03 Si, and 1 Black 02. I only talked to the salesperson for 10 minutes or so after test driving it, but he seemed open to deep discounts.

He made it clear that he needs to get rid of the 02 to make way for the 03. When I mentioned I want to get the car for under 16k, he said that he would see what he could do, but he'd need to know that I was definitely buying the car. Good sign I guess.

I was thinking of trying to get the car for about 15k + 460 for destination or roughly 15.5k for the car, excluding tax/title/registration. Do you guys think this is price that I have set is too high or too low?

I'm thinking about getting the black, but it's gonna be a pain to keep it clean.

When I was shopping for an RSX back in the summer, I also took a look at Si's. This was when they first came out btw. A dealer quoted me $16.5k straight out, without me haggling at all. I've heard of people getting the car for $16k these days. I think $15.5k would be a good price, if you can get it.

As for color, black or white seems to look best on this car.

you can get a '03 for as low as 16,995 with no bargaining. that was a december promotional price honda was running. I bought mine this month so i couldnt get that price anymore but i got the price down to 17,498 + destination and no dealer fee.

I paid $15,995 for mine. So did one of my employees.

Victor paid $15,600 for his '02 EP just a few days ago.
That price was WITH destintation included.

Thanks,
Victor

1.9% financing is available at all Honda dealers on all 2002/2003 Civics with the exception of the natural gas Civic.
