6-Speed Manual AWD '89 Wagon?
In a prior post on here someone said that it only drives in AWD sometimes, and not always
it used a viscous coupling between the driveshaft from the tranny and the driveshaft to the rear wheels. it would transfer power through to the back wheels when the fronts were slipping....similar(yet different) to the AWD system used on current CRV's.
yeah its really a 5 speed, with an extra super low gear...
yup 6sp wagon r0x0rz
got 1990 EE last May, but sold it told to a friend who had his ITR stolen.
friend took this pic on our way home from Santa Barbara when we picked up the car

People talk **** on the wagons, but they really can be fast. I remember a brown one from 16 18 22 that was taking everyone out one night and he had 3 other people in it, of course it had a swap... That shift **** above looks pretty bitchin
I wouldnt mind having that in my car to trip people out

They just got a KILLER car. I picked up one with 225k and rusted to **** for $650. It lasted me for two winters before i sold it for $600.
The cool thing about the wagon is that if you find one with a good body and tranny, a nice a6 or ZC can do it wonders.. Even a supercharger
The fact that they are good in snow is an understatement.
Wish i would have seen that auction... Would have picked it up but 5 hondas at one time is justa lil silly

buddy of mine has kinda a sleeper one... its lowered with the new 15" or 16"(can't remember) 2002 civic rims... with b18c1 under the hood. such a nice car.

I thought it would be cool to get one and swap my ZC into it, but when I found out I would have to not have the AWD I said screw it.
If anyone has information that says I could use my ZC and still have the AWD work then I'll find one and be selling a nice CRX shell.
yeah theres someone on here thats got the dohc zc mounted to the 4wd d series tranny. One of these days when i get money i wanna do a b series swap and use a manual tranny from a crv and have the bseries 4wd drive train on a civic or crx

you have to keep a d series to keep the awd..zc = d series, direct swap.

you have to keep a d series to keep the awd..zc = d series...just need to drill some new holes and patch the old ones up where the tranny connects to the block...
my mom drived a 99 CRV. Its full time AWD, which means that if the 2wd slips, 4wd will kick in. I think its FWD until it kicks in though, cause if you're on ice and you stomp on the gas, the front end will slide(like FWD's) for a sec, then it'll straighten out when the rears kick in. I dont usually stomp on the gas on ice, I just wanted to know what wheels it drove, and it was an empty parking lot anyways.
